THE SMALLPEICE SIX SIGMA TRAINING DEPLOYMENT PROCESS

PRE-PROGRAMME
COMPANY VISIT

Before the main programme commences, delegates will be visited at their company for a pre-programme introduction and project scoping session. Ideally, this session includes meeting with the delegate/s sponsor/s to scope project work and agree success criteria and financial metrics for the project work

STAGE
1

STATS GROUND SCHOOL (Optional)

A practical pre-programme session on basic statistics can help to refresh the principles before attending the main programme. Alternatively, delegates can be provided with pre-course work and reading in order to refresh knowledge of some of the commonly used statistical tools

MODULAR TRAINING PROGRAMME

The training programmes are organised in modular blocks that follow the key stages of the Six Sigma process

Training includes hands-on Minitab software training – where delegates work on individual PCs to learn the software which supports data analysis and reporting

Comprehensive course notes are provided throughout the programme – with sufficient detail to act as invaluable reference manuals

Delegates will work with a number of specialist tutors throughout the programme – co-ordinated by an overall Course Leader

STAGE
2

PROJECT
WORK

Project work takes place between the training sessions

During the first week of the programme each delegate will spend time with an experienced Six Sigma practitioner to ensure that the objectives, scope and direction of their project are clearly outlined (building on

the work initiated during the pre-course visit) • At the start of each of the training blocks – formal project reviews will be held with the group, and advice will be given about project progress and planning

In addition, delegates are provided with a web forum, email and ‘phone access to their Smallpeice project mentor – for ongoing help and advice

CERTIFICATION

Black Belt & Green Belt accreditation is available via Smallpeice Enterprises (inclusive within programme fee) and through our accreditation partners – Cardiff University Business School (£450 per delegate supplement).

The overall process includes assessment of the following elements:

1. Sitting of a computerised

    multiple choice examination

2. Submission of written

    project report

3. Presentation on the main

    findings, outcomes,

    process used, plus panel

    assessment interview

STAGE
3

PAYBACK

Technical and financial success criteria for each project are agreed during a pre-course visit when the management support structure and project goals are established

Typically, each delegate is expected to generate savings of at least twice the cost of training – and in many cases savings are achieved of between £25K to £100K per project
